Polk County Commissioners on Aug. 4 confirmed that unspent waste-management fund dollars may be used for recycling supplies, equipment maintenance and to support operations at the county recycling center.
Chair pointed to page 205 of the budget book where building and equipment maintenance expenditures were included and said the waste-management fund had available dollars to support a full-time recycling-program coordinator and necessary supplies and uniforms. Commissioners voted to authorize the spending.
The motion was seconded and carried without opposition; staff will record the allocations in the waste-management fund budget and proceed with purchases as outlined.
