During its regular meeting, Riverton City Council approved two ordinances after staff presentations and public hearings. Planning staff explained proposed amendments to the RM-6 multifamily zone (ordinance 25-21), including a recommendation to retain a 25-foot rear-yard setback where new multifamily projects abut existing single-family lots unless the setback is changed through an SD designation as part of a rezone.
The council moved, seconded and passed ordinance 25-21 by roll-call vote. Later, planning staff explained that a recent commercial-code update had accidentally removed a section governing architectural standards for dumpster enclosures; the proposed ordinance 25-22 restored consolidated language across commercial zones. Council adopted ordinance 25-22 as presented. Both votes passed unanimously on the roll calls called in the meeting.
