Jason Jones, the city staff liaison for the Emergency Preparedness Committee, reviewed activities the committee has completed over the past year and asked councilmembers for questions and continued support. "We also, participated in the Utah great shakeout, the earthquake exercise," Jones said, listing exercises and technology tests undertaken by the committee. He added the committee used ham-radio volunteers across events including town-day parades and has purchased three AEDs to replace expiring units at city facilities. Jones also said the hazard-mitigation plan is updated every five years and will be presented to the mayor for eventual council promulgation.
