Council authorized a budget amendment (26-0-29) of $13,787 to fund the current interim town manager at 24 hours per week through June 30 and separately granted the town manager permission to engage a staffing agency to locate an interim town manager candidate.
HR director LaDonna Snellbaker outlined the RFQ process that identified a firm able to supply interim candidates; Sabio said the staffing firm would provide candidate resumes and that council would have to approve any selected person and the associated costs. Council members discussed costs, candidate residency requirements under the charter, and the goal of overlapping a new interim with the current part-time manager. The council voted to permit contracting with the staffing firm and to adopt the short-term budget amendment; further candidate approvals and budget actions would return to the council for consideration.
