Mayfair HOA asks council to drop right-of-way relinquishment; resident had requested the opposite

The council removed a right-of-way item from tonight's agenda after the Mayfair Community Association's president told the town the board does not want the town to relinquish its remaining right of way on a 7,000-square-foot parcel at the west end of Mayfair Crown Drive.
Jenny Lee Bellinger, identified as the association's president, read a letter asking the council to take no action and stating, "The Mayfair Community Association Board of Directors does not want this right of way to be relinquished to our association, and mister Harding does not speak on our behalf." Earlier in public comment, resident Lloyd Harding said he had requested the town voluntarily give up its right of way; Harding told council the property could later be sold to the town by homeowners for $1 if they wished to reopen the option of a town road connection. Council agreed to move the ROW discussion to the May 26 meeting for fuller staff and HOA engagement.
