“Per the Greater Memphis workforce development board website it as of 09:56PM last night they did not have an agenda posted,” the commenter said, pressing commissioners to require greater public access to meeting materials. He also questioned a $300,000 payment to the chamber and alleged irregular disbursements that he said merited county control of fiscal agency for workforce funds.
Committee Chair (role) moved that the item be forwarded without a committee recommendation so the commission could consider next steps. The committee concluded the item with no formal action beyond forwarding it for further consideration at the full commission meeting.
The comment focused on process and transparency rather than a specific contract; commissioners did not adopt policy changes at the meeting but acknowledged the concerns and the need for better public posting of agendas and records.
