Commission advances first reading of industrial zoning revisions, adds dust-control and socio-economic review

Commissioners approved adding text including "and ore processing" to the Industrial District description and new development standard items. Neumiller also presented new operational language that the commission approved; she read and the minutes record a specific requirement: "J. Dust Control, All uses in the Industrial District shall implement dust control measures on site access roads in coordination with the County Highway Department and County Engineer." The board approved the first reading by motion (Voigt moved; Guenthner seconded) and the motion carried with all commissioners voting aye.
The ordinance language also requires applicants to provide an evaluation of potential socio-economic impacts including employment, tax revenue and service cost impacts. The first reading advances the measures to subsequent hearings before final adoption; the minutes do not record a final adoption vote at this meeting.
