Council approved Resolution 25‑20, adopting a fiscal‑year 2025 budget amendment that includes an urgent replacement for a failing ZOLL heart monitor used by the fire department. Staff told the council the monitor purchased in 2018 had a 12‑lead component that would no longer work; staff recommended using additional fire‑department revenue to replace the unit now rather than repair it.
Council member 12 moved to approve the amendment and, after discussion and a roll‑call vote, the motion passed unanimously. Staff clarified the department maintains a replacement schedule for heart monitors and that newer modular monitors let staff replace failed components rather than the entire unit in the future.
