Council directs staff to include Emergency Operations Plan update in budget; Public Works facility and park updates reported

City Manager David Larson asked council whether to include the cost to update the Emergency Operations Plan in the final budget; Larson explained the plan was last updated years ago and several contracts need renewal. The council directed staff to include the update cost in the final budget, and Larson referenced Emily Thomas of Jones & Associates as having been involved with the original plan.
Councilman Wayne Winsor said a revised cooperation agreement with the gravel pits is expected by the end of the year. Councilman Joel Dills thanked staff for work at Veterans Memorial Park. Larson reported the contractor for the new Public Works Facility will soon begin interior office work and that the completion date is scheduled for August 20, 2025. Mayor Rod Westbroek said expansion of the stage at Central Park is near completion and the council thanked donor Paul Sturm.
