Meadows Park design advances; Nature Park playground and City Hall landscaping move toward bids

Public-works staff gave several park updates: Meadows Park improvements are roughly 80% through design with infrastructure elements (parking loop, restrooms, storm drainage) planned and bids expected in August or September. John said the city will put utilities and restrooms in as part of the infrastructure work and then advertise construction bids.
Nature Park's playground surfacing and splash-pad upgrades have equipment arriving and staff said the city allocated about $100,000 for playground equipment pending budget approval in August. "The splash pad features did show up maybe a week ago, 2 weeks ago," John said; staff plan to install and service the new features after budget confirmation.
For City Hall landscaping, staff proposed a xeriscape plan with crushed slate paths to reduce water use and estimated $80,000–$90,000 to complete the work; plant selection and sprinkler coordination remain to be finalized. Council members asked about schedule and access to materials and staff said bids and vendor scheduling are underway.
