South Weber City approved Resolution 25-19 to enter a service agreement with Beacon Code Consultants to provide third-party building inspection and plan-review services. The city issued an RFQ on April 1, 2025 in response to Utah State Code changes; Beacon was the sole respondent. An evaluation committee reviewed qualifications and interviewed owner Tyler Seaman on April 28, 2025; staff recommended Beacon and presented the service agreement to council for approval.
Councilman Wayne Winsor moved to approve the agreement and Councilman Blair Halverson seconded; the council unanimously voted in favor. City staff said the contract will provide an additional inspection option for building activity in the city.
