The South Weber City Council voted to approve Ordinance 2025-12 to change zoning for the Williams property at approximately 1161 E South Weber Drive from Agricultural (A) to Residential Moderate Density (R‑M). The parcel is about 3.13 acres; staff noted the R‑M designation permits up to 2.8 dwelling units per gross acre, which would allow roughly eight single-family lots on the site. Councilwoman Angie Petty moved to approve the ordinance; Councilman Blair Halverson seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all five council members voting aye.
Applicant Layne Kap explained the Williams home will be removed and that one lot will use the existing access to South Weber Drive. Councilman Joel Dills recommended a three-way stop to help slow traffic on Lester; City Manager David Larson said he would discuss that traffic-control suggestion with City Engineer Brandon Jones. "The 3.13 acres would allow for up to 8 single-family dwelling lots," the staff report stated during the discussion.
