San Pasqual High School students and community supporters asked the board for a clear timeline and concrete commitments to keep and grow the school’s agriculture and FFA program. Student leaders, FFA regional officers and parents described recruitment plans, fundraising ideas and the program’s importance for leadership and career pathways. "We cannot recruit new students to a program that has not yet been approved," asked Giovanna Schafer, the school’s FFA vice president.
District staff, led by Ed Services, listed immediate steps they have directed at the site: add ag CTE courses back onto the digital course selection sheets for the 26/27 school year; instruct site administration and counseling to help with recruitment and retention; verify that ag equipment remain on campus; and include San Pasqual in future grant applications. Dr. Casas committed to meet with site leadership, the FFA teacher and community stakeholders "as early as next week" to develop the implementation plan.
