The Superintendent told the board that a two-day strategic planning committee meeting involving about 40 participants — including students, parents, board members, teachers, administrators and local business leaders — produced groundwork for the district's five- to seven-year planning horizon.
He said the district is in a planning year for math curriculum adoption and is working with curriculum specialists to determine a recommended math curriculum for next school year. The Superintendent also announced facility work to create a true gym entry (cosmetic changes scheduled Dec. 18–Jan. 5), upcoming advisory meetings and a pilot district ambassador program that will recruit up to 20 community members to learn district operations and decisions.
"This is the planning year for curriculum and math," the Superintendent said during his report, urging board members and community to watch for applications and additional detail online and at upcoming meetings.
