An external auditor told the GUNTER ISD board that the district’s 2024–25 financial review turned up no formal findings, and trustees moved to accept the audit.
Ron Rohde, the auditor who presented the results, said, "Which leads me to number 2, no findings. It was a very clean audit." District finance staff earlier reported a total ending balance across accounts of $19,859,305.88 and explained material account changes and transfers tied to timing of tax and state revenues.
Board members praised the finance team and the audit firm’s work, noting that the district’s net position and investments have improved in the past two years. The auditor highlighted net position and investment growth (net position reported around $8.8 million and investments increasing toward $10.3 million) as signs of fiscal stability. A trustee moved to approve the audit report as presented; the motion was seconded and advanced to a vote.
The approval allows the district to close the fiscal-year audit process and proceed with routine financial reporting and any administrative follow-up. No additional corrective actions or findings were recorded in the presentation to trustees.
