Mayor's Leadership Council students brief council on planning and shadowing program

Two youth members of the Mayor's Leadership Council — Aiden and Destiny Hill — presented a brief update on MLC activities and upcoming plans.
Aiden said the group has met with the planning and zoning department under the leadership of Kendra to better understand department operations. Destiny Hill added that the council welcomed a representative from Charleston Southern University who discussed the Master of Public Administration program and career pathways into public service. Both students noted upcoming field trips and a shadowing program intended to give participants a closer look at local government operations.
Mayor Gregory Abid and council members thanked the students for their presentation and encouraged continued youth involvement as a means to boost civic engagement.
