Commission hears roads committee update; NOHOA to set vegetation-clearing standard

Chair Dave Cremons reported that the roads committee is continuing work on vegetation clearing to improve sightlines along local roads. NOHOA plans to approve a standard calling for clearing 5 feet from the side of the road and 16 feet from the centerline, and targeted intersection clearing for visibility.
Cremons said most of the clearing work will be conducted by NOHOA because the land adjoining the roads is privately owned and the City's abatement authority is limited and time-consuming. City Administrator Kevin Kress said the City is exploring ways to support NOHOA's work but that some items may fall to NOHOA and sub-associations to regulate or carry out.
The Commission took the update as informational and did not take formal action beyond noting ongoing coordination with NOHOA.
