Chair Gwen Brown reported incoming Board of Equalization training, hiring activity at the Big Water Visitor Center and that the Roads Department expects to hire a weed sprayer. Commissioner Patty Kubeja noted the Find the Spine kickoff event and a VA Resource meeting, and said the local reservoir is at an all‑time high. Commissioner Celeste Meyeres said she and Kelly Stowell will present to the Kanab City Council, the commissioners continue conversations regarding the North Rim, and they recently met with the acting superintendent of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Meyeres also said the Coral Pink Sand Dunes Road project is in engineering with implementation planned next year.
The commissioners listed additional regional engagements, including a Five County Association of Governments meeting scheduled the following day and a recent meeting in St. George regarding water hauling. These items were presented as routine commission updates rather than items requiring formal action during the March 10 meeting.
