Planning Commission to clarify 'structure' in setbacks ordinance after NOHOA feedback

Chair Dave Cremons said he and others reviewed the list of 27 setback items and noted NOHOA recommended changes to only six of them; NOHOA's primary concern was clarity about the term "structure." Cremons suggested that rather than debating each item at length, the Commission should focus on the definition so NOHOA can determine which items the 30-foot setback applies to. Commissioner David Loegering proposed instead identifying an engineering trigger that would require Planning Commission review when a structure is proposed within setback areas.
Cremons proposed a small group of commissioners work with NOHOA representatives and sub-associations to find points of agreement; City Administrator Kevin Kress added the City may defer regulation of some items to NOHOA where appropriate. The Commission will revisit the topic at its next meeting.
