Building inspector proposes scaled plumbing and mechanical fees; public hearing to be scheduled

Building Inspector Gino Rignoli reported increased building permit activity and proposed implementing a scaled fee schedule for plumbing and mechanical permits. He said staff are comparing rates in surrounding towns and that a public hearing will be required once the Building Department and the Board agree on proposed rates.
The board instructed staff to schedule the public hearing for early July to allow neighbors and permit holders a chance to comment. No fee levels were adopted at the June 8 meeting; the proposal remains subject to the hearing process and Board approval.
