Butler County consolidates court case software support with Pine Technologies and settles Amplifund agreement

County Attorney Darrin Devinney explained that personnel who built the original court case management software formed a new company and offered to provide support and an improved system with no data conversion costs. The county currently pays roughly $25,000 a year for support and about $13,506 a year for the shared discovery program (totaling ~$38,506); the proposed Pine Technologies contract consolidates services at $40,000 per year. Commissioner Jeff Masterson moved to approve the Pine Technologies contract; motion carried 4-0.
Separately, Assistant Administrator/Finance Director Ryan Adkison reported that the county's contract with Amplifund (for grant management) had not integrated with the financial system as intended and that staff negotiated a release and settlement requiring payment through the third year (covering 2026) only. Commissioner Masterson moved to authorize the Chair to sign the release and to make the final payment; the motion carried 4-0. Adkison said the county may revisit grant management software in the future if a better fit appears.
