County approves 2026 Stop DWI MOUs and local DWI enforcement patrol contracts

The Public Safety Committee approved the county’s 2026 Stop DWI plan and associated interdepartmental MOUs. The District Attorney’s Office was authorized funding for $4,000 in secretarial services and $56,000 for prosecution of DWI cases; Probation was authorized $22,000 for officer services; Mental Health was authorized $8,500 for alcoholism treatment and case management; and the Sheriff’s Department was authorized $8,500 for a DWI program coordinator and secretarial services plus $15,445 for enforcement patrols and related expenses. The plan was recorded as aligned with Resolution #25‑597.
The committee also approved MOUs with local police departments for DWI enforcement patrols: Arcade Police (up to $7,000), Warsaw Police (up to $8,500), and MOUs for Attica and Perry Police (up to $4,000 each). Motions were recorded as carried unanimously.
