The committee recorded an estimate for a scaled‑back renovation at $3.4 million and directed staff to develop a proposal to submit to the county’s preapproved engineering firm for consideration next month, with an anticipated award sometime in early summer. Committee minutes note Kideney is the original architect with portions of the drawings subcontracted to C&S Engineers.
Director of Food Services R. Bailey also provided a kitchen operational note that two freezer meals were sent to the jail in anticipation of weather impacts. The sheriff recommended moving forward with the renovations to restore unusable cells and replace cameras noted as part of the project scope.
