County submits multiple KDOT bridge applications for river and tributary crossings

Road and Bridge Department Head Kurt Demel presented three Kansas Department of Transportation bridge applications for consideration: a primary Local Bridge Improvement application for FAS 460 (bridge on O Road and 60th Avenue over the Arkansas River), a secondary Local Bridge Improvement application for FAS 420 (bridge north of Rozel over the Pawnee River), and an Off-System Bridge Program application for FFY 2028 for OS73 (on W Road north and west of Larned over a tributary to Ash Creek).
Commissioners reviewed the locations and project descriptions and authorized submission of the applications as presented. The minutes record approval to proceed; specific engineering estimates and project budgets were included in the application packet presented by Demel but are not reproduced in the minutes.
