The Human Resource Committee authorized the chairman, director of human resources and the sheriff to sign a successor agreement between Wyoming County and the Wyoming County Deputy Sheriffs Association that will take effect Jan. 1, 2026, and run through Dec. 31, 2028. The motion by Supervisor Perkins carried unanimously and the resolution was recorded for the full board.
HR Director D. Farberman summarized key contract changes: revisions to 207C that cap prior accruals at six months; a requirement that medical documentation demonstrate an injury is job-related rather than pre-existing; increased shift differentials (range noted as $0.75 to $1.25 depending on shift); and multi-year pay increases (5% in 2026; 2% in Jan 2027 and 2% in Jun 2027; and the same pattern for 2028). Farberman also presented an interdepartmental cooperation agreement with Wyoming County Community Health System to provide HR and Civil Service support for 2026, which the committee authorized.
