Parks & Rec seeks to surplus old fairground structures; Pine Knob Trail social pages approved

Parks & Recreation Director Tommy Barton told the Court the department wants to surplus an old leaning wooden barn, an old fence and large boulders left from tennis court construction as part of fairgrounds maintenance and cleanup. There was discussion about where to relocate old bleachers and a suggestion from Magistrate Jamey Gay to incorporate the Old Fairgrounds and White’s Park into Millennium Park.
County Administrator Julie Wagner asked for permission to launch a Pine Knob Trail Facebook page linked to Instagram; Magistrate Paula Bodner moved to approve the social pages and Magistrate Steve Sleeper seconded. The Court approved the motion unanimously. Wagner also said pickleball construction documents are in development and Tate Architects has expressed interest in work on the bell tower.
