Council approves $18,150 design agreement for Coulee River Trails connection

City Administrator Matt Wolf presented Cedar Corporation’s proposal to provide professional design engineering services for the Coulee River Trails Phase 1 Segment 2 project, a 0.24-mile accessible trail connection from Walnut Circle to Magee Park. The proposed lump-sum design fee is not to exceed $18,150. Wolf noted that the city previously secured a $100,000 grant from the Friends of Freedom Park/Coulee River Trails and committed to raise an additional $40,000 to complete the project.
Greg Adams of Cedar Corporation reviewed the project timeline: topographic field survey in July 2026, preliminary design in August 2026, and final design documents in September/October 2026, positioning the project for potential construction in 2027. The council approved Resolution 37-26 to contract Cedar for design services; the motion passed without a negative voice vote.
