La Pine council accepts Ignazzitto resignation; seat to be advertised

Mayor Jeannine Earls announced and read Council President Ignazzitto’s letter of resignation during the City of La Pine council meeting on Jan. 14, 2026, and presented Ignazzitto with an award recognizing her years of service to the city. The resignation creates an open council seat that the city manager said will be advertised on the City website and that applications will be presented to the Council for appointment.
During public comment resident Colleen Scott, who said she began serving alongside Ignazzitto in 2021, thanked the council president and said she 'would be missed.' City Manager Geoff Wullschlager and Mayor Earls praised Ignazzitto’s leadership and indicated the Council will review its committee appointments and goals in light of the vacancy. The Urban Renewal Agency also has two openings to be advertised, including one seat that will require a Council appointment.
