Forebay Committee sets 2026 goals: parking expansion, grant-seeking and invasive-plant removal

The Forebay Committee identified a set of goals for 2026 focused on improving access and stewardship. Members listed expansion of parking lots, pursuit of additional grant projects, removal of phragmites and noxious weeds in the marsh, installation of bird nesting boxes in partnership with birding groups, and development of a formal trail-maintenance schedule.
Karl Teemant updated the group on park infrastructure and trails, noting that "Phase 1 is partially complete and a connection trail still needs to be completed." Councilmember Ryan Rowley asked about the possibility of horse-trailer parking as access and upper-lot parking are planned for this year.
