The Millcreek Planning Commission unanimously approved SD-26-004 on June 17, allowing a mixed-use hotel at Chambers Avenue and Highland Drive to be subdivided into vertical condominium units by volume and floor level. Planner Brad Sanderson told the commission the application meets criteria for condominium plat approval and that a future application will subdivide the residential portion into 25 individual condominium units.
Sanderson explained the ground floor facing the Common would contain retail space (mostly retained by the city except the Fine Arts Center portion), the city would retain ownership of much of the central parking structure, and hotel operations and residential condominium units would occupy the remaining volumes. Commissioner Victoria Reid moved to approve SD-26-004; Commissioner Jenny Burgess seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
