Council approves $62,000 change order after unforeseen rock delays on 65th Street undergrounding

Lee said that borings had been done to four feet but crews in some locations needed six to 12 feet of excavation and had to work around stormwater and sewer lines, explaining why costs exceeded the initial midpoint estimate. The project is otherwise complete and staff requested payment of Evergy’s final bill.
