The Board of Zoning Appeals of the Village of Old Westbury on July 13 continued the variance application for 35 Applegreen Drive, submitted by Khalida and Rahimullah Mashriqi.
The Mashriqi application seeks multiple variances to permit additions and alterations — a new garage, bedroom suite, prayer room and a lower‑level indoor pool/gym — and to match existing materials. The application lists four specific relief requests: 7.6 feet from the accessory structure minimum setback requirement (required 75 ft, existing 62.4 ft), 34.7 feet from the front yard minimum (required 182 ft, proposed 147.3 ft), 19 feet from the south side yard minimum (required 100 ft, proposed 81 ft), and a volume variance of 45,014 cubic feet above the allowable 134,676 cubic feet (proposed 179,690 cu ft). The matter was continued from the June 8 meeting and, on motion by Member Jennifer Vartanov, seconded by Member Pasquale Zito, the Board voted to continue the application for a reserved decision.
No final vote or conditions were recorded in the public minutes; the Board reserved itself to issue a written decision at a later date.
