Utility Services Director Obe Tejada introduced Resolution 09-2026 to adopt an interlocal cooperation agreement with Grand Water and Sewer Service Agency (GWSSA) concerning a city facility referred to as the "cemetery well," which officials described as having low water quality and being in disrepair. Councilmember Miles Loftin said an estimated $40,000 would make the well operable and that the GWSSA lease would cover that investment; the lease is renewable annually and was described as not affecting water services to the city.
Councilmember Loftin moved to adopt Resolution 09-2026 and authorize the Mayor to sign the agreement; Councilmember Colin Topper seconded. The motion passed 5-0 with Councilmembers Taylor, Knutson-Boyd, Topper, Myers and Loftin voting aye. The resolution and interlocal agreement were authorized for signature and will be implemented in coordination with GWSSA.
