Shannon and Florencia announced a leadership change in the Office of Licensing: Florencia Shapiro assumed the role at the end of October. Florencia said the office is reviewing the noncompliance process document and will repost it when updates are complete.
Daphne detailed changes in the background‑check process and a forthcoming fee adjustment: "the background check application fee will be adjusted to $54 in DAX on January 17." She addressed a spike in flagged BCIs (background checks) tied to driving‑related charges and said rule and policy updates are underway; until those changes are finalized, staff must review some charges that had previously not required review. Daphne also said DLBC has recently hired two new team members who have begun training and will be assigned caseloads to help with renewals and backlog reduction.
The division said it will send information about an in‑person DACS training (March/April) and will provide updated guidance documents when available.
