Chair Susan Culp reported on a tree assessment by the Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program and announced a tree‑pruning workshop slated for April 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. focused on crab apple trees on the Common. The Selectboard approved ordering bare‑root crab apple seedlings for town distribution as part of US 250th celebrations and a student-centered planting activity on May 1.
Board members acknowledged the need to consult other Common stakeholders on tree placement and signaled interest in developing a long-term tree management plan. The motion to approve the event and seedling distribution passed by the Board (moved by Shauna Prime, seconded by Andrew Lee).
