County donates surplus vehicles to Southwest Counseling and Rock Springs, authorizes possible transfers to Events Complex

Commissioners approved declaring multiple vehicles surplus and donating two Dodge Durangos to Southwest Counseling for client transport and a 2013 Ford F-250 to the City of Rock Springs for fire-department use; staff may also transfer up to two Road & Bridge pickups to the Events Complex pending final selection.
Purchasing Director Marty Dernovich asked the board to authorize surplus transfers and donations for several county vehicles. Dernovich said Southwest Counseling requested usable vehicles after totaling one of its fleet vehicles; county staff identified two Dodge Durangos (a 2004 and a 2009) suitable for client transport and asked that the chairman be authorized to sign titles for the transfers.
“We came up with 2 Durangos, a 2004 and a 2009 that they said would work great for them to, transport, clients and that sort of thing around around town,” Dernovich said. The board approved donating the two Durangos to Southwest Counseling, approved donation of a 2013 Ford F-250 to the City of Rock Springs (the city will perform required repairs), and authorized the chairman and purchasing director to work together to identify up to two Road & Bridge pickups for transfer to the Events Complex. All motions carried by voice vote.
