Commissioners approve partial vacation of Covered Wagon Park subdivision for mapping and title cleanup

Eric Bingham, Sweetwater County land use director, briefed the commission on a request from Maverick, Inc. to partially vacate the Covered Wagon Park subdivision. Bingham said the Maverick subdivision plat was recorded and mapping work showed some lots and remainder portions that were missed during earlier vacating; the proposed certified resolution will vacate those remainder portions and correct GIS and title records.
Bingham said the change was largely a record-cleanup action tied to a previously approved plat and that a surveyor-signed affidavit of correction will be recorded after the resolution. “So what this resolution will do is correct that... and then what we'll follow-up with is an affidavit of correction,” he said. The board opened a public hearing, heard no comments, and approved the resolution unanimously.
