The Newbury Recreation Committee reviewed Little League preparations at its April 7 meeting. The committee said practice schedules will be set after CVLL releases its game schedule on April 15.
Operational tasks were assigned: Kelly Schlegel is arranging batting-cage setup and ordering chalk and paint from Agway; Kelly is also contacting Chief Excavating about a potential donation of field material. The committee agreed to post on Facebook seeking volunteer umpires but emphasized that coaches are responsible for securing umpire coverage for games.
