Newbury Easter Egg Hunt draws larger crowd; committee recommends operational fixes

The Newbury Recreation Committee reviewed the April Easter Egg Hunt on April 7 and reported the event hid 2,000 eggs across age groups (0–4, 5–9 and 10 and up) and was better attended than last year. Jane from The Women's Club described the event as successful and said her grandchildren enjoyed the hunt. Organizers added a speaker and music this year, which the committee said improved the program.
Committee members proposed several operational changes for next year: use the speaker's microphone instead of the megaphone used this year, employ a clicker to better track attendance, separate prize baskets by age group and provide adult refreshments such as coffee and donuts. Treasurer Jennifer W. Dube reported that Easter expenses exceeded the original plan "slightly," though she did not give a precise overage amount.
