Library previews 'Reading Is Totally Rad' Summer Reading Club, May 30 ugust 8

Wyche detailed recurring "Fridays at the library" programming that rotates performers among the three brick-and-mortar branches to reduce transportation and scheduling barriers. She listed special events including an eighties-style mall transform at the kickoff, DJ Astronaut for an eighties bubble bash, breakdancing and superhero training, a planned Dallas Zoo appearance, and a final end-of-summer neon glow party on Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The library will use the Beanstack app again to let participants log reading hours and claim prizes for kids, teens and adults.
Council asked staff to place the events on the city calendar and provide graphics; library staff said patrons can obtain printed guides at branches, access an online guide and follow social-media updates. The presentation emphasized that most programs are free and designed to attract families and adults via evening and late-night offerings.
