Council approves fiscal 2027 CIP listing over objections on residential‑streets funding

Council member Shotwell objected to the timing and depth of review, arguing the council and public did not have sufficient opportunity to study the CIP and warned the plan does not allocate enough funding for residential street repairs. “There’s not enough money in this anywhere to fix the residential streets,” Shotwell said, and said he intended to vote no. Shotwell urged the city to treat next year’s CIP as a workshop item so council and staff can dissect priorities and funding options before a final vote.
