Grand Prairie resumed its "Cycling with the Mayor" series after spring weather caused delays. Mayor Ron Jensen led an evening ride along a trail that connects Wagner and Mike Lewis parks on the city's north side. The free series, started by the mayor as part of the Get Fit GP initiative, includes walking and running events, community and health fairs, and additional rides across the city through 2026.
A participating resident (speaker 4) described the event: "The ride was great. Short ride, varying terrains and just a a cycle through the park and see all the people and everything." City staff directed listeners to gptx.org/getfitgp for full schedules and details on the upcoming mayor's 5K community walk and health fair on May 30.
