Commission approves wholesale auto-sales specific-use permit for MacArthur Boulevard site

The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to close the public hearing and approve SUP-26-03-0005, permitting wholesale auto sales at 200 MacArthur Boulevard and adjoining addresses, subject to Development Review Committee conditions.
Hannah, a city planner presenting the item, said the wholesale sales would be "between licensed auto dealers at local auctions" and would not include on-site public display or body-and-paint operations. She noted the applicant requested a variance to allow 10 stacked parking spaces; staff recommended denial of stacked parking and required compliance with chapter 13, article 20 of the Grand Prairie code. Neighbor Vicky McAleer, who said she lives at 126 Northeast 31st Street, opposed the request citing traffic and safety concerns. The applicant, who identified himself in the hearing as Robin Morgan, told the commission operations and parking would be on the MacArthur side of the property.
Commissioners moved to approve per DRC recommendations. The motion carried unanimously.
