The City’s CDBG entitlement for FY2026‑27 was reported as $2,089,794; staff noted $417,959 would go to administration and the public‑services cap is 15% ($313,469). The recommended city project allocations include a housing repair program ($608,366), funding for three CDBG‑eligible code enforcement officers ($250,000) and a Freeman Heights green‑space program ($500,000). Staff told council the workbook contains prior‑year funding details and asked each councilor to return their allocation spreadsheets by May 26 so staff can present averages and a recommendation at the June 1 work session.
Council members asked for clearer prior‑year tables and a glossary explaining acronyms (CDBG, HOME, ESG, CHDO). Staff confirmed HOME and ESG pots are smaller (HOME total including CHDO set‑aside and new home development; ESG focuses on homeless services) and encouraged eligible subrecipients to apply to multiple pots.
