During the financial presentation to the board, Miss Greer gave a snapshot of the district's cash position and near-term budget activity. She said the total ending balance across the district's 12 accounts was "$22,300,799.58" and that the total interest earned across those accounts was "$69,110.54." She attributed a large September payment this year to a TEA payment-class change that concentrated a higher share of the allotment into that month.
Miss Greer told trustees tax collections are just beginning for the year and to date the district had collected about "6.43% of the budgeted revenue," with no related expenditures posted yet. She highlighted that curriculum and staff-development spending is high right now (reported at about 61% of the year's budget for that function) because purchase orders have been issued early to ensure training and materials are available now rather than at year's end; maintenance and operations expenditures were just under 56% for the year-to-date period.
The presentation also noted a 2023 bond-account reduction of $373,441 consistent with scheduled debt payments for ongoing construction. Board members asked clarifying questions about PO accounting and timing but did not alter spending decisions during the meeting.
