County accepts $61,673 EMPG award to fund emergency management payroll; 50% cash match required

County grants manager Christina Marshall told commissioners Sweetwater County was awarded $61,673 in EMPG funding from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security. Marshall said the grant requires a 50% cash match, yields a $123,346 total project award, and will be applied to FY26 payroll for the Emergency Management Coordinator (supervised by Special Services Lieutenant Rich Fisher). Because the award was delayed at the state level, the grant agreement allows reimbursement of eligible expenditures incurred as of July 1, 2025.
Marshall stated the required match was included in the current grant projects budget and that the payroll projection for FY26 ($115,996) was within the agreement budget. The board voted unanimously to approve the EMPG agreement and authorized the chairman to sign related documents.
