County approves cooperative agreement with Wyoming DFS to process child support payments locally

The board approved a cooperative agreement that allows the Sweetwater County Clerk of District Court to process certain child support orders and accept payments locally under a long‑standing state program. Clerk Clark Chetterbach told commissioners the arrangement has been in place in his office for more than 25 years and is signed by 22 of 23 Wyoming counties.
Chetterbach said the state provides equipment and software and that his office offers the service as convenience to residents who prefer an in‑person receipt. He described fee handling: "To file a civil case, it's a $160. A $110 of that is dispersed back to Sweetwater County at the end of each month," and said his office opens about five child support cases a month; he also stated a recent monthly civil‑fee remittance figure. The board approved the agreement and authorized the chairman to sign. The action passed by unanimous voice vote.
