Council approves amendments to banner permit rules and expands allowed zones

Zoning Administrator Kyndal Sagers told the council that Ordinance 2026-02 incorporated edits requested at a prior meeting to clarify banner permit processes, expand safety standards and expand permitted zones to include Village Commercial (VC), Central Commercial (CC) and Public Use (PU).
"Changes requested by the Council had been incorporated," Sagers said. Councilmember Pat Campbell moved to approve Ordinance 2026-02 as discussed; the motion passed unanimously and the mayor was authorized to sign. The ordinance is intended to improve clarity and safety for temporary signage while allowing additional flexibility for events and community messaging.
