Council authorizes enforcement actions: signal contractor default, Emery Crossing bond demand and final payment with liquidated damages

Following executive session, Hutto City Council voted unanimously to take several enforcement steps against contractors and to finalize pending payments.
Council authorized the city manager to send a notice of default and termination of contract to Eleknor Belcor Electric, Inc., related to signals on Innovation and Limmer Loop Boulevard (CIP T13‑2024). It also approved sending a demand letter against the performance/maintenance bond for Emery Crossing Phase 3 for unpaid wastewater, drainage and paving items. Separately, the council authorized staff to process the contractor G Creek's final payment application while accounting for 23 days of liquidated damages.
All enforcement motions passed 7–0. Council instructed staff to proceed with the legal and administrative steps necessary to pursue bond claims or termination notices and to report back on outcomes and any required further action.
