Updated estimate pushes Oaks Avenue bridge cost above $700,000; county amends 5-year plan

County Engineer Paul Geilenfeldt told the Board that updated engineering estimates for the Oaks Avenue bridge replacement increased the opinion of probable cost from approximately $580,000 to about $714,782. He said the project is funded through the Highway Bridge Program and that updating the Five-Year Plan is necessary to preserve eligibility for full federal funding.
The Board approved an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2027 Secondary Roads Five-Year Plan (motion carried 3-0). Geilenfeldt said the project is anticipated to be included in the November letting and noted the County may pursue winter construction opportunities if scheduling allows.
